"Indian's and Hippie's"

Back in the day when all the protesting was going on in the sixties and seventies, the original theme was, quit killing our brother's in"Viet Nam" and quit fucking with the "Indian's". This was a movement of mainly, educated white, upper middle class boys. Not a bunch of lazy dirty white trash that came along latter. This was the generation to change things, not lazy, stoned maybe, but not lazy. The way we talk, inter act with other races, dress, environment, recycling, came with this generation, not a bunch of bums as the Government portrayed them. When the son's and daughter's of WWII hero's started protesting, the world got up and noticed. Their would have never been a "Black", "Gay", movement with out the "Hippies". They were all hiding out, being cool, but when the "White" boys got up. they jumped in line. I was talking to a retired "Phoenix" cop about it, a while back, me being a protester, him being a cop on the other side. He was still up set about some of the things that went on back then, I reminded him that if the "White,s" weren't in the marches you would of gunned down the others, he looked at me upset and said, damn right we would have, it was the sixties, and we were in charge of the streets them. I respect the "Phoenix P.D." because their aways at war, with us being so close to the border with "Mexico". Most people really had no beef with the cops, just the Military in charge, the cops didn't send no one off to war. The people who hated the cops were the same ones who hated them before the "Nam" thing, the punks and white trash. Many years ago, myself and some other "Vietnam Nam" era vets where going to blow up a dam that didn't get built in the area, called Red Mountain Dam. The "White's" in power wanted to flood the "Indian's" out of the Lower Verde River area. But because of the environment movement going on at the time the tribe was saved it's land,(Owls) they were truly powerless against the "White" power structure, it took the "Hippie" movement to stop that, not the "Goverment", not the "Indian's". Here in "Arizona", it seems someones "Tribal" leader is always getting indited for corruption. When you think about it the "Indian's" have really only had about one hundred an fifty years to simulate into our society, which is it's self, is corrupt. Not very removed from a nomatic life style, in a hundred fifty years. The AIM would of been powerless without the "Hippie" movement, they sat powerless on their Rez's, until the white boys stood up, now they got noticed, now they had the nerve. The "Hippie's" had to stand up, to get the "Indian's" to have enought courge to stand up and be noticed, once again, die for their right's. Now like "Karma" their getting rich off the "White's", they stole their land and now their stealing their money right back. The circle of life goes on and on, no escaping it, does G.W. Bush think he and his band of "White" boys are better than the rest, "Universal Laws", don't apply to them. I'm working on my bummer's, is any body else, am I wrong or is this, truly is a free ride thru life, just take and take. bye
