"The Tibetan Book of the Dead"

Watched a really good video on You Tube called, 'Tibetan Book of the Dead'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QWZoId-dZQ Which is about the
how the dying are helped on there path at death. Not sure how I happened upon
this video, but it was very informative. There is also a book called "The
Tibetan Book of the Dead'. That I'll be referencing today in my writings. Always
have been fascinated by Tibetan teachings, all though parts I feel at odds with.
I've always felt that if you want enlightenment, seek it in your own mind.
Because others are always thinking there path too enlightenment, is your path
too enlightenment. And this couldn't be farther from the truth. For I believe
each individual has there own personal things to work on in this life "Time".
You chose to be here and others have not choose that for you. You should know
your own failures, not others. Although in today's reality many do not know
there own destiny. For that has been taken away from them by the controlling 'powers' here on Earth. For there is the giant battle for your soul and enlightenment. Not sure why this is battle is happening, I can only recognize the results. For there is a giant chasm between the human state
of today, and from my childhood.

The 'The Tibetan Book of the Dead' is very similar to the 'Egyptian Book of the
Dead'. For both are written to help the dying and dead to reach a high plain of
reality. In the Tibetan version you learn of the Bardo, a after death 'Plane'.
Where you encounter all these bizarre experiences. And even after your death,
you can still here those on the other side. Here is a great example of that.
I've talked too a kid who fell off Tempe bridge. And he tells of how he could
see down onto his own body and even see the paramedics working trying to
resuscitate him. For he was dead and was brought back to life, where he
re-interred his body. Even today they are having to reteach him basic things,
even though his mind is quite clear. So here is a perfect example of how you are
still able to see and hear those around you after death.

'Bardo Thodol' is the intermediate state between being alive and being dead. And
this is where the 'Tibetan Book of the Dead' comes in. The scrips or Sanskrit
were written by Padma-Sambhaya. Who introduced Buddhism too the Tibetan peoples
in the 8th century. The Sanskrit were hidden in remote locations, to be found
later. The reason being that when they were written, Padma-Sambhava believed the
peoples would not be mentally ready for them. Just in the same as today, about
the UFOs appearing around the World.

The most famous of the Sanskrit were the ones found by Karma Lingpa who was born
about 1350 CE (Common Era). It is believed that Karma Lingpa found the texts on
top of a mountain in Tibet. When he was only 15 years old. The texts he found
were titled 'The Self-Emergence of the Peaceful and Wrathful Deities from
Enlightened Awareness'. This is were the now famous 'Great Liberation Upon
Hearing in the Bardo. And hearing in the Bardo means you can hear those around
you after death. And this is where these teaching come in. For you can be guided
along your path after death. Thus helping you take the correct path as you pass
through many choices after deaths. Just as you see in many Native American and
Egyptian tales. Many Native American tribes aways buried there dead with items
that would help them in the after life. It is said that when Cochise died. They
lowered his favorite horse on top of him in the canyons of the Chiricahua
Mountains of southeastern Arizona.

'The Tibetan Book of the Dead' was first published in 1927 by the Oxford Press,
London. The book was given this name because of the similarities between it and
the 'Egyptian Book of the Dead'. There is a later editions with views and
opinions by Dr. Carl Jung. I would like to give you some excepts from the book.
So hopefully it will spark your interest in it. And help you find more about
what happens to one after death. Quoting from the book

'It is best if the guru from whom the deceased received guiding instructions
can be had; but if the guru cannot be obtained, then a brother of the Faith; or
if the later is also unobtainable, then a learned man of the same Faith; or
should all these be unobtainable, then a person a person who can read correctly
and distinctly ought to read this many "Times" over. There by the deceased will
be put in mind of what he had previously heard of the setting face to face and
will at once come to recognize that Fundamental Light and undoubtedly obtain
Liberation.

This is the "Time" for application of the readings.

When the expiration bath ceased, the vital-force will have sunk into the
nerve-center of Wisdom and the Knower will be experiencing the Clear Light of
the Natural Condition. Then, the vital-force, being thrown backwards and flying
downwards through the right and left nerves, the Intermediate State momentarily
dawns.

The above directions should be applied before the vital-force hath rushed
into the left nerve, after first having transversed the navel nerve-center.

The "Time" necessary for this motion of the vital-force, is as long as the
inspiration is still present or about the "Time" required for eating a meal.

Then the manner of the application is;

When the breathing is about to cease, it is best if the Transference hath
been applied efficiently; if the application hath been inefficient, then address
the deceased thus:

O nobly-born (name), the "Time" hath come for thee the Path in Reality. Thy
breathing is about to cease. Thy guru hath set thee face to face before with the
Clear Light; and now thou art about to experience it in it's Reality in the
Bardo state, wherein all things are like the void and cloudless sky and the
naked, spotless intellect is like unto a transparent vacuum without
circumference or center. At this moment, know thou thyself; and abide in that
state. I, too at this "Time", am setting thee face to face.
